BABEŞ‑BOLYAI University of Cluj‑Napoca has the great honor to host the ANLEA - AILEA Congress 2011 organized by the Department of Applied Modern Languages and the Centre for Language Industries of the Faculty of Letters. The event will take place under the common aegis of the ANLEA (Association Nationale de la filière Langues Etrangères Appliquées), of its international branch AILEA and of the Rectorate of the BABEŞ‑BOLYAI University of Cluj‑Napoca and it is meant to be a special place for dialogue and exchanges reserved to the international academic community of the Applied Modern Languages departments.

This year, the ANLEA - AILEA Congress will take place from June 3rd to June 5th in Cluj‑Napoca and it shall be a great opportunity to set the premises for international dialogue and for a shared and comparative reflection on the experiences and best practices of Applied Modern Languages departments from several countries. We sincerely hope numerous Applied Modern Languages Departments will participate at this event regarded as a new stage in the activity and the development of the Association as it is the first time the ANLEA Association entrusts the organization of its annual congress to a foreign university. The University of Cluj‑Napoca is ready to take over this task.

We have the great pleasure of informing the participants that a workshop for international cooperation has been added to this year’s schedule.

Representatives form universities wishing to start or resume their international cooperation relationships shall have the opportunity to present the curricula of their university and to formulate their exchange proposals (Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, joint degrees, bilateral cooperation agreements between universities or departments, etc.). This workshop is meant to give the representatives of the various participating universities the opportunity to provide brochures, leaflets, etc., and to directly interact with other colleagues.

The host university is also organizing a book exhibition and fair of publications in French, English, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian and Dutch from your departments. Therefore, the departments or participants interested in this event are kindly asked to send us a list of the publications (with bibliographical references, brief description and price). These lists will be multiplied on Thursday morning, June 2nd at the latest. The book exhibition and fair will be kept by students from the LMA Department.

The stand of the Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania (http://www.muzeul-etnografic.ro/en/) at the ANLEA - AILEA International Congress will feature products made by local craftsmen and master craftsmen of folk art.
