1.1.1.The purpose of the academic specialty in Langues Etrangères Appliquées /Applied Modern Languages (LEA/AML) is to offer a professionalizing, multidisciplinary, theoretical and practical study programme capable of preparing students for the prospective profession and more so for jobs in companies, in the best of conditions, and, at the same time, of supporting research activities from within the domain;
1.1.2.The LEA/AML academic specialty implies at least two foreign languages in combination with courses in the fields of application (law, economy, international trade techniques, communication, translation tools and techniques, information technology, etc.);
1.1.3.Both languages are considered main languages (advanced level);
1.1.4.The LEA/AML academic specialty also includes internships in companies and public institutions;
1.1.5.The teaching staff is comprised of teachers and collaborators from the professional field;
2.1.1.A French or foreign language specialty which undertakes these criteria can be recognized as compatible by the ANLEA-AILEA;
2.1.2.The recognition of AILEA of some specialties as being compatible with the LEA/AML specialty has the purpose of encouraging and supporting students’ educational trajectory and mobilities in accordance with international agreements and national provisions as well as with the statutory framework of the concerned universities;
2.1.3.AILEA Association federates institutions which adhere to these principles with the purpose of promoting the LEA/AML professional study offer;
3.1.1.The ANLEA-AILEA project is based on constituting and supporting the development of a French, European and international network of specialties which are compatible so as to allow for the information dissemination and exchange and for interuniversity collaboration.
