About the Library
The Sembazuru Centre for Japanese Studies has its own library, built up from important book donations offered by The Japan Foundation (with the support of the Embassy of Japan), The Nippon Foundation (Tokyo, Japan), The House of Japan Association (Tokyo, Japan) and various private donors (Emiko Higashi, Shinji Naruo).
Our Collection
Over 4,000 volumes
Textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, volumes and publications in the fields of Japanese language and literature, history and philosophy, religion, culture, civilisation and social sciences.
Multimedia materials
Journals, cassettes, CDs and DVDs accompanying the Japanese language textbooks, complementing the library’s book collection.
Bachelor's theses
A collection of bachelor’s theses on research topics in the field of Japanese studies, contributing to academic research.
The book collection comprises more than 4,000 textbooks, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, volumes and publications in the fields of Japanese language and literature, history and philosophy, religion, culture, civilisation and social sciences, complemented by materials accompanying the Japanese language textbooks such as journals, cassettes, CDs and DVDs.
The Japanese Studies Library also holds a collection of bachelor’s theses researching various aspects of Japanese studies. The library also has a small reading room of its own.
The book collection is constantly enriched through book donations received from various Japanese institutions and private donors. The collection and study materials of the Japanese Studies Library support not only the smooth running of the teaching process, but also the proper functioning of the Sembazuru Centre for Japanese Studies.
