The Sembazuru Centre for Japanese Studies
The Sembazuru Centre for Japanese Studies [SCJS] is a research centre without legal personality, subordinated to the Department of Asian Languages and Literatures of the Faculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University. According to its charter, the Centre promotes Japanese culture in Romania and supports the developing Romanian-Japanese relationships.
Article 1
The SCJS may develop research projects, which are subject to the approval of the members of the research unit.
Article 2
The SCJS may have publications, journals or volumes (individual or collective) financed from its own resources.
Article 3
The SCJS may award research, specialisation and doctoral scholarships from its own resources, and may host doctoral, postdoctoral and research fellows.
Article 4
The SCJS ensures the transparency of its academic, cultural and civic programmes and projects by publishing them on the research unit’s website.
Article 5
The SCJS may propose international academic cooperation; it concludes collaboration agreements with similar units in Romania and abroad.
Article 6
The SCJS organises scientific events.
Article 7
Decisions within the SCJS are taken by a majority of the members present.
Article 8
The SCJS may improve its infrastructure by winning research grants or obtaining sponsorships.
Article 9
The SCJS will pursue a policy of expanding its research personnel and attracting external collaborators from Romania and around the world.
Article 10
The SCJS is led by the council of the research unit and by the Director of the Centre.
