Participation of the Faculty of Humanities’ Students in Prestigious Academic Events

In 2018, the students and PhD candidates of the Faculty of Humanities achieved outstanding results and participated in several national and international colloquia and conferences.

The faculty will reward these efforts at a celebration held on June 19, 2018, starting at 12:00 PM, in the Eminescu Hall. The awards for the scientific session of students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates will also be presented at this time. The opening lecture will be delivered by University Lecturer Dr. Corina Croitoru (Research and the Age of Researchers). This year, the Student Jury nominated Miss Andreea Elisa Roff: she will hold the mini-conference reserved for the most convincing presentation.

Awards at the “Lucian Blaga” National Colloquium (Sibiu, October 28–29, 2016) Ovio Olaru: Blaga’s Expressionism in Romania and German Poetry, section “Lucian Blaga’s Philosophy and Aesthetics,” main prize of the colloquium. Anamaria Mihăilă: Charon’s Boat in the Literary Journalism of the 1990s: A Committed Critical Experiment, section “Lucian Blaga in Recent Literary and Critical Discourses,” 1st prize. Mihaela Vancea: The Concept of Nothingness in Blaga’s Poetry, section “Hermeneutics of the Literary Text,” 3rd prize. Awards at the BestLetters Colloquia Conference organized by the University of Bucharest (October 28–29, 2016) Ioana – Daniela Pavel – 3rd place, literary studies section, The Writer’s Portrait Between Truth and Fiction. Gabriel Liiceanu – A Story of the “Unknown”, scientific advisor: Prof. Dr. Ioana Bican Mihai – Sorin Duma – Special Prize from the Scientific Committee, literary studies section, Corin Braga and the Dream Diary. Configurations and Transgressions of the Self, scientific advisor: Prof. Dr. Ioana Bican Antonia – Viorela Meseșan – 3rd place, cultural studies section, Carmen Sylva: Writer and Shaper of Romanian Cultural Identity, scientific advisor: Prof. Dr. Ioana Bican Elisa – Andreea Roff – Honorable mention in the linguistics section, Diphthongization of “o” in Derived Words with Suffixes and Derivational Elements, advisor: Assistant Lecturer Dr. Cristina Bocoș Ana-Maria Codău (MA, 2nd year) participated as an invited speaker at the Vienna Congress of the International Comparative Literature Association, the most prestigious event in the field. The congress was organized by the University of Vienna between July 21–27, 2016. Advisor: Associate Professor Dr. T. Szabó Levente Outstanding results were achieved by two LMA student teams led by University Lecturer Dr. Renata GEORGESCU. The teams reached the finals of the OLYFRAN (TOURNOIS MONDIAL DU FRANÇAIS) international competition organized by HASSELT UNIVERSITY (Belgium). Certificates were awarded in July 2016. The teams were: “LesGrammeReines” (Iulia Baciu, Lavinia Besoi, Olimpia Buhai, Alexandra Hojda, Andreea Naroși) and “Les Césars” (Denisa Berințan, Anda Ciupe, Oana Dănilă, Sorana Pop, Cristina Scridonesi, Ionela Timiș, Crina Zbânca) Todea Zeina (2nd year, Japanese–Finnish major) won a special award at the “Speech Contest in Ehime 2016,” organized by Ehime University (Japan) on October 30, 2016. The competition featured 18 foreign students from 10 countries.
