Art. 105 – Student Rights

During their studies, the student has the following rights:
  • to benefit from free education;
  • to use the university’s lecture halls, classrooms, seminar rooms, laboratories, reading rooms, libraries, sports facilities, cultural centers, clubs, and all other facilities provided by the University for professional, scientific, cultural, and sports development;
  • to receive performance scholarships, merit scholarships, study grants, and social aid scholarships, according to the Scholarship Regulation;
  • to benefit from accommodation in the University dormitories, within the available capacity;
  • to benefit from free medical care;
  • to receive tickets for rest or health recovery in student camps;
  • to obtain discounted tickets for transportation, shows, sports events, etc.;
  • to participate in student organizations, to vote and be elected as a student representative in the Faculty Council and the University Senate;
  • to request, for a fee, educational activities not included in the curriculum and approved by the Faculty Council;
  • to benefit from national and international mobility programs.
Note: The rights mentioned under items a), c), and d) apply only to students occupying state-funded positions.

Art. 106 – Student Duties

The student has the following duties:
  • to comply with the legal regulations governing student activities;
  • to meet the curriculum requirements and the expectations of course instructors;
  • to show respect to the teaching and administrative staff of the faculty;
  • to observe university discipline and behave civilly toward peers and staff;
  • to handle with care the goods provided by the University (libraries, dormitories, cafeterias, etc.);
  • to cover any damage caused by the deterioration or destruction of university property.

Art. 107 – Sanctions for Violations

Violation of obligations results in sanctions proportionate to the severity of the act:
  • written warning;
  • written warning with notice;
  • suspension of the scholarship for 1–3 months;
  • suspension of the scholarship for one semester;
  • expulsion from the University.
Sanctions are imposed by:
  • Dean – for items a), b);
  • Faculty Council – for items c), d);
  • Rector – upon proposal by the Faculty Council, for item e).
In all cases, the student must be heard before a sanction is applied.

Art. 108 – Appealing Sanctions

The sanction decision may be appealed to the management body hierarchically superior to the one that imposed the sanction. This decision is final.
