The opening ceremonies of the 145th academic year of the Faculty of Letters will take place on Monday, 2nd October 2017.
The Hungarian department is going to have an opening lecture at 2 pm in the Eminescu room of the Faculty. We are glad to announce this year’s guest lecturer’s, Márton Szilágyi’s (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest) presentation with the title A kimondhatóság határvidékén: elhallgatás és érzékiség (Arany János: Tetemre hívás) [On the Borderland of Speakability: Reticence and Sensuality (János Arany: Tetemre hívás)]. After the course on the great Hungarian classicist poet’s ballade we introduce the members of the teaching staff to our first year students.
This year too, a lecture by one of the members of the Hungarian community is going to open the academic year for the whole faculty. Professor Attila Benő’s presentation in Romanian Nyelvi érintkezések – kulturális interferenciák [Language Contacts – Cultural Interferences] is due at 11.30 am, likewise in the Eminescu amphitheatre. Both events are open, all interested are welcome!
